Rali's parents, Vili and Johnny, came to visit us in Zagreb around the 01 May International Workers' Day holiday for about ten days. While there were there, we went on an overnight trip to Bled, Slovenia, where Rali and I had traveled several times before. The weather was perfect, and we set out for a walk around Lake Bled. You may recall from previous trips that there's a church on an islet in the middle of the lake. Here are Rali and the boys, with the islet in the background. Johnny and Vili also stopped for a rest, and to enjoy the island view. |

Kelvin eventually got tired of sitting in the stroller, and asked to go for a walk instead. Grandpa was happy to help. |

We visited Bled on the same weekend as an "Old-Time Cars" convention, and had a delightful time browsing through the old European models. North Americans may not recognize this particular BMW, but Kristof knows all about it from his copy of My First Book of Questions and Answers: CARS. According to the book, "The BMW Isetta was nicknamed the 'bubble car' because of its shape. These tiny three-wheelers only had one door, at the front. There was only foom for the driver and one passenger." Because Kristof was so interested in the car, the owner climbed inside and found a diecast model of the car to give him as a gift. If you recognize the car and know the owner, please pass along a "danke schoen" from us! |

Here are Kelvin, Rali, Kristof, and Rich at the Bled castle, overlooking the lake. Kristof was more interested in playing with Kelvin than in smiling for the camera. |

And here are the boys with their mom and their grandparents. Check out the boys holding hands! |

We took a boat to the islet in the lake, where Kelvin fell fast asleep. As I went to take the photo, Kristof and Grandpa were distracted by the church bell ringing high overhead. |

This is my favorite photo from the weekend. We were walking along a path on the islet to go back to the boat. Kristof stopped and was watching the ants on the path. Every now and then we're reminded that he's not a baby anymore...often in photos like this. |

After we left Bled, we stopped and spent the afternoon in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, on the way home to Zagreb. Kristof asked for an ice cream, but offered some to Kelvin as well. Notice how Kristof opens his own mouth to show Kelvin how to eat. |
