Here are a few photos from Christmas morning 2007 in our home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. First, here are Rali and the kids, after Rali opened their present to her: some Japanese wasabi (Rali’s been making vegetarian sushi rolls at home).

Rali and the boys also received new bikes for Christmas. Since the city of Calgary clears the bike paths of snow and temperatures were just above freezing, the family went out for a bike ride on Christmas morning. Carmen fell asleep in her trailer, and was a little grumpy when she woke up. Eventually, she happily played on a playground with her brothers, but here she’s still a little sleepy, in front of her trailer and Rali’s new bike.

We’re trying something new, posting a YouTube video for the first time. Carmen, age 2-1/2, is introducing herself on December 4, 2007, while the family is decorating the Christmas tree (hence the Santa hat). If the clip had subtitles, they’d say, “It’s me, Carmen Lily Roesing. Wait, I want to see!” Click on the Play button to start the video.

On a chilly November day, the family bundled up and drove to Elbow Falls, in the Bragg Creek area west of Calgary. We had a nice walk on the trails there, but it was a little too cold for a picnic that day.
