Rich arrived in Welcome Lake, Pennsylvania, after five days and four nights of driving across the country. The last day’s drive, from Fremont, Ohio, was 483 miles. Here’s the total, five-days-and-four-nights drive from Calgary to Beach Lake, PA.
All good things must come to an end…we’re leaving Calgary in just a couple months, so we just put our house up for sale. And if you’re not interested in moving to Calgary and buying our home, at least you can read about our humble yet happy home!
On the morning of April 10, Rali had planned to go for a bike ride with her friend Jamie, with Carmen in the bike trailer, but Calgary’s weather is unpredictable: we had the largest April 10 snowstorm in 100 years or so. So they changed plans and went out for a walk instead, with Carmen in the stroller. As they were out walking, they came upon a Global TV news crew, and they were on the 6:00 broadcast that evening. Here’s the whole Global TV news segment in which they appeared. They’re at about the two-minute mark.
A few people have written to ask about the Golden Triangle bike ride Rali’s going to do in May. Here’s a Google Maps link showing the route they’ll be taking. If this gadget works, here’s a map of the route. Each segment is 104-110 km (65-70 miles) long:
Kristof (age 6) just earned an “A” in Math in his first term of first grade, while Kelvin (age 4) is learning basic math concepts. Kristof decided to create a learning tool for Kelvin, and did this page of basic math problems for him. All answers can be calculated on a 4-year-old’s fingers!
(Kelvin did complete the problems, without any mistakes!)
